incoming college student’s ears clings every time they hear the term “in demand”, especially those that have been craving for immediate success not realizing that four years is long enough for the term “in demand” to shift to “not anymore”.

Years have passed yet it is noticed that the same problem is still being faced by the country today. Unemployed fresh grads, board non-passers and etc. that usually graduated to courses with large scale enrollees. The government tries to fix this problem by passing on memorandums like for example at present, The Commission on Higher Education’s (CHED) moratorium (meaning legally authorized period of delay in the performance of legal obligation or simply suspension of activity) on the opening of five higher education programs (Business Administration, Nursing, Education, Hotel and Restaurant Management and Information Technology) for the same problem, many enrollees, many graduates yet less employment. Actually the situation doesn’t only circulate in the government’s system but also the people in the society have a part in solving the issue.
 Why confused?
Demand and Passion are just two reasons why incoming College Freshmen are indecisive in choosing what course to take up. News headlines often contain topics pertaining to economic and status crisis, thus, incoming college student’s ears clings every time they hear the term “in demand”, especially those that have been craving for immediate success not realizing that four years is long enough for the term “in demand” to shift to “not anymore”. They don’t anymore take into account their interests and passion just for the sake of being employed right away not knowing that later on it will affect their work performance. On the other hand, some still give importance to taking up courses they’re passionate about. This is to achieve a good feedback from a good performance when employed and have an assurance of love, peace and harmony with the assigned task. Another reason is to elevate justice to the skills and talent the Almighty God specially offered.
Now, the end of the of the country’s grasping for change is still in the hands of the youth but such actions will continue as long as wrong decision making is also continuously done. Future college students should learn to listen and not only hear what their heart beats and choose courses they’re passionate about, because later on it will be the key to if not immediate but to a lifetime success.
